Observation is fundamental to Montessori practice. But how do we move beyond simply watching to observing with greater purpose, precision and understanding?
This session takes observation deeper: exploring how experienced educators use what they observe to understand behaviour and readiness, recognise meaningful patterns in children's development, make more considered decisions about when to intervene — and when not to — and inform planning, presentations and classroom practice.
It is an opportunity to reconsider observation not as a passive activity, but as one of the adult's most powerful professional tools for supporting independence, responsibility and meaningful engagement.

How do we move beyond presenting the Great Stories and Key Lessons to extending them, connecting them across disciplines, and opening pathways for children's own inquiry, research and discovery?
